Announcing our partnership with Forest Holidays

The Prince's Countryside Fund is delighted to announce our latest corporate partnerForest Holidays.

About Forest Holidays

Tourism is an important lifeline for many rural areas, creating jobs and boosting the local economy, as tourists visit attractions, eat out, and buy local produce and souvenirs. As a leader in rural tourism, we contract locally and buy food, drink, crafts, and other items from local suppliers to stock in our Forest Retreats. By creating employment, sharing the economic benefits of tourism, and actively contributing to communities, we can help to maintain the quality of rural life for generations to come.

We want to do more to secure a sustainable future for the rural economy and offer entrepreneurs and start-up businesses a helping hand. One of the biggest barriers to setting up a new business is financial support and we're pleased to announce that we have joined forces with The Prince’s Countryside Fund to help overcome this! From May 2019, 10p from every hot drink that we sell in each of our Forest Retreats across our 10 UK locations will be donated to support people with business ideas in rural areas, through a business start-up grant programme.

In addition to this, we will also be creating a 12-month mentoring support programme for new businesses. In this programme, a relevant expert in the Forest Holidays team will be sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience.

By joining forces with The Prince's Countryside Fund we will help to create new rural businesses and support local economies.

Claire Saunders, Director of The Prince’s Countryside Fund said: “Forest Holidays’ sustainable approach to tourism is a real asset to rural communities, and The Prince’s Countryside Fund is delighted that they are supporting our work to boost the rural economy. The Rural Business Start-Up Fund will offer not only financial support, but also expert advice and mentoring to entrepreneurs in rural areas, helping us achieve our vision of a more sustainable countryside and an improved quality of rural life.”
