Over £300,000 awarded in grant funding to grassroots projects

The Prince's Countryside Fund is delighted to announce more than £300,000 worth of grants, awarded to 14 projects across the UK.

The Fund is open for grant applications of up to £50,000 twice a year, and aims to support innovative projects that will provide a lasting legacy to the individuals and communities they seek to benefit.

The Fund seeks applications to support activity that results in a long-term positive impact on rural communities by helping the people that live and work in the countryside. Our grant programme currently aims to tackle the following key rural issues:

  1. To improve the prospects of viability for family farm businesses
  2. To sustain rural communities and drive economic vibrancy
  3. To support aid delivery in emergency and building resilience

This year, grants have been awarded that support digital skills (Good Things Foundation, Cosmic), provide training for young people interested in a rural career (Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, Kilfinan Community Forest), improve the resilience of farming families (IAGSA, FarmCornwall, Beds and Cambs Rural Support) and prepare for natural disasters (Appleby Emergency Response Group), among others.
