Enter the M&S Farming Awards

Marks and Spencer (M&S) is once again partnering with The Prince’s Countryside Fund to run an additional award alongside its 2018 supplier Farming for the Future Awards.

The Prince’s Countryside Fund award is open to all UK farmers, growers and fishermen, not just M&S suppliers, and is looking to celebrate producers, particularly those running a family business, who are building ‘resilience’ into their enterprise to keep it fit for future generations. This might include work on risk management, succession planning, or a forward-thinking approach to ensure their business is robust for the future.

The Farm Resilience Award is split into three regions; Ireland (Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland), Scotland and England & Wales. The winner and runner-up for each region will be invited to a prize-giving ceremony at their regional 2018 agriculture show – The Royal Balmoral Show for Ireland and Northern Ireland; The Royal Highland Show for Scotland and the Royal Welsh Show for England & Wales. Each winner and runner up will receive two entry tickets to the appropriate show and each winner will also receive £50 of M&S vouchers.

Steve McLean, Head of Agriculture and Fisheries Sourcing at M&S, is delighted to be supporting The Princes Countryside Fund. “As a business, we have been supporters of The Prince’s Countryside Fund for a number of years and this is the third consecutive year that we have included a dedicated category in our awards programme for them too. It is great to be celebrating farmers who are building resilience into their business as this is a core focus for the Fund.”

The deadline for Ireland region nominations is midday on Wednesday March 28, 2018.

The deadline for Scottish region and England & Wales region is midday on Friday 27th April 2018.
