Our Research

The Prince’s Countryside Fund regularly commissions research into the issues and challenges that face rural areas, farming families, and communities across the UK countryside. Use the menu links to find out more.

The Fund is currently tendering for submissions for its 2020 research on the Supply Chain.

Our most recent publication is The Village Survival Guide, which built on ‘Recharging Rural’, a report published in July 2018 looking at ways that rural communities can help themselves to be sustainable in the future.

In 2017, the Fund published research into consumer opinions of agriculture, ‘Who’d be a farmer today?’, which found that 1 in 4 (25%) UK adults liking the idea of giving up their day job and working on a farm, but few respondents had an accurate idea of what life in agriculture is like.

We have also commissioned research into the sustainability of small family farms, and how cash flow has a significant effect on farmers.
