Sustainable Agriculture Bursary launch event

November 12, 2021

On Thursday 11th November, we hosted a joint event with long-term supporter Jordans Cereals to launch the third year of the Sustainable Agriculture Bursary (SAB).

Now in its third year, the SAB is an initiative created in 2019 to support young people studying agriculture at either the Royal Agricultural University of University of Reading. The bursary provides six students with the opportunity to pursue their interest and passion for sustainable agriculture. Alongside funding, it matches students up with a mentor of their choice and provides invites to events and networking opportunities.

On Thursday, we invited all three cohorts of the bursary together to learn more about the bursary and its opportunities, and importantly to meet one another. We were kindly hosted by one of the Jordans Farm Partnership farmers in Suffolk. The morning comprised of sessions about the bursary and its aims, and we heard from the students about their experiences so far. After lunch we had a tour of the farm, hosted by farm owner Robert.
