First Fellows of The Prince’s Countryside Fund awarded

December 2, 2021

The Prince’s Countryside Fund has named their inaugural fellows – Mark Allen, Stephen Dunmore, Mark Pendlington, and Lord Mark Price.

The four fellows and PCF staff

All four Fellows have supported the PCF for many years, both as members of the board of trustees and in personal capacities. The awarding of a Fellowship is to recognise the outstanding contribution made by these individuals to the work of the PCF.

Mark Allen was Chair of The Prince’s Rural Action Programme Leadership Team and of The Prince’s Dairy Initiative, a successful programme of support for dairy sector and the foundation on which The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme was built. Mark became a Trustee of the PCF in 2010 and Dairy Crest, of which he was CEO, was a founding corporate partner.

Stephen Dunmore was a Trustee from 2010 until 2017, and a dedicated Chairman of the Grant Making Committee until 2021, continuing to provide PCF with his invaluable experience in charitable grant giving.

Mark Pendlington was a Trustee from 2015 to 2018, having previously been a longstanding and dedicated member of The Prince’s Rural Action Programme Leadership Team whilst in his role at Anglian Water. Tireless in his work for the PCF even after stepping down from the board, Mark has continued to build important connections for the PCF in East Anglia.

Lord Mark Price was instrumental in setting up the PCF with HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, and as the Founding Chairman he led on the development of the cause related marketing model that has been the driving force behind the PCF’s fundraising for over a decade. Mark personally secured a great number of our founding corporate partnerships, not least securing the 10-year relationship with Waitrose as a core supporter of the PCF. It was his personal energy and commitment that ensured the Fund’s success.

Lord Curry, Chair of The Prince’s Countryside Fund said: “Individually and collectively these individuals have made a huge difference to the PCF, and we’re delighted to award our first Fellows of the Fund. We are very grateful for their wisdom, advice and support, on which we have been hugely dependent over the years.”

The Prince’s Countryside Fund would like to thank all four fellows, board of trustees, and supporters: Aldi, Barbour, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Booths, the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Duchy Originals, Forest Holidays, Gregory Distribution, Jordans Cereals, Marks & Spencer, McDonald’s UK and Ireland, Morrisons, New Holland, Sainsbury’s, Samworth Brothers, Saputo Dairy, Waitrose, and Willy’s Cider Vinegar.
