The Sustainable Agriculture Bursary

Jordans Cereals and The Royal Countryside Fund are dedicated to caring for nature and the environment and we can only do that with the support of passionate people who care about sustainable farming and agriculture. This is why, in 2019, we created the Sustainable Agriculture Bursary.

Available exclusively to agriculture undergraduates at the Royal Agricultural University and the University of Reading, the Sustainable Agriculture Bursary has been designed to offer funding support, a mentoring programme, invitations to events and networking sessions, a standout CV and much more.

This is an experiential bursary, meaning that it is designed to provide funding for events, shows, conferences, webinars and trips abroad that help you develop your understanding and passion for sustainable agriculture.

This video was produced when we were The Prince’s Countryside Fund.

The five winning undergraduates for the 2019 academic year were Trystan Williams (Royal Agricultural University), Elena Chapman (Royal Agricultural University), Christabel Bishop (Royal Agricultural University), Edward Fearnall (Reading University) and Elliot Cole (Reading University).

The six winning undergraduates for the 2020 academic year were Alice Lloyd (Royal Agricultural University), Eliot Pearse (Royal Agricultural University), Philip Betteridge (Royal Agricultural University), Astrid Stubbings (Reading University), Daniel Weaver (Reading University) and Grace Parrish (Reading University).

The six winning undergraduates for the 2021 academic year were Alexandra Godfrey (Royal Agricultural University), Jen Hawkins (Royal Agricultural University), Phoebe Collins (Royal Agricultural University), Alex Young (Royal Agricultural University), George Alvis (Reading University) and Rory Bush (Reading University).

“When I heard I had been awarded the bursary, I was overwhelmed. It is a great achievement, and I am very grateful to Jordans and The [Royal] Countryside Fund for giving me this opportunity.”
