M&S Farming for the Future Awards - Contribution to Rural Communities Award
The Prince’s Countryside Fund is delighted to be partnering with M&S’s Farming for the Future Awards.
The award to celebrate producers in the food supply chain who are going the extra mile to help support local rural communities was launched last year. One of the winners was Crosby Cleland from Saintfield in Co. Down.
We are seeking nominations for people who play an important role in the community, outside their day-to-day business activities. Maybe they have provided land for a local community project, hosted school visits or offered apprenticeship opportunities to young people in the area.
The Contribution to Rural Communities Award is open to any farmers, growers or fishermen and the competition will be split into three regions; England & Wales, Scotland and the island of Ireland, with one award winner and one runner up selected for each region. The deadline for all nominations is midday on Wednesday March 29, 2017.
The regional winners of the Contribution to Rural Communities Award will each receive £500 of M&S vouchers and runners up will each receive £100 of M&S vouchers.
Finalists will be notified before each show and the winner and runner up for each region will be announced a week before their regional 2017 agriculture show – The Royal Balmoral Show for Ireland and Northern Ireland; The Royal Highland Show for Scotland and the Royal Welsh Show for England & Wales. A prize-giving ceremony will then take place on the M&S stand on the first day of each show.
You can nominate yourself, or someone who you think is deserving of recognition. Please give as much detail as you can on the entry form and fill in all sections in full.
